About Devoted

Devoted was born from years at the bedside --
from witnessing both the beauty and the quiet cost of birth work.
What began as journal pages and whispered prayers
slowly became a place of formation and rest
for those who serve families at holy thresholds.
This ministry exists to strengthen birth workers
spiritually, vocationally, and practically --
so that the work of their hands may be steady and life-giving.
In the sacred work of birth, Jesus is your rest and renewal.
---
‘Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened,
and I will give you rest’
—
Matthew 11:28 (NIV)

Mary Green, Midwife

Devoted was founded by Mary Green, a licensed midwife and educator whose work has been shaped by many hundreds of births.

Her teaching flows from lived experience --
from long nights, sacred first cries, difficult decisions, and faithful presence.

Grounded in Scripture and shaped by real clinical practice,
Mary creates resources that cultivate competence, steadiness, and quiet endurance in those entering or continuing in birth work.

Devoted operates as the ministry arm of Moonbelly Midwifery, extending formation beyond the walls of the birth center.

Carolynn Slocum, CD, CBE

From time to time, Devoted partners with trusted colleagues in specific areas of formation.

Carolynn serves as a collaborator in doula training and childbirth education. A seasoned birth professional and prayerful presence, she has attended more than 600 births and brings both clinical insight and deep spiritual steadiness to the work.

Her heart for families and her faith-filled encouragement strengthen the women she walks alongside.

The Heart Behind Devoted Ministry of Childbirth

Every piece of Devoted: Ministry of Childbirth was born from mercy --
from places where God met me and gave me back my breath.

What I offer now — the courses, the writings, the care, the prayers --
flows not from expertise alone,
but from gratitude made tangible.

I believe birth is holy ground.

And when we serve families, teach birth workers, or sit quietly in the space between contractions,
we are witnessing the mystery of life held in God’s steady care.

May this work remain faithful,
steady,
and rooted in the truth that God is present --
still sustaining, still restoring, still making new.
